Electric motors and transformers
Idrocalor S.r.l. has long experience in the construction of plants for the production of electric motors and transformers.
Production processes require dedicated plants for:
- Drying of windings, cores and containment tanks
- Polymerization of the insulating resin of the windings
- For oil transformers, filling with diathermic oil (in a controlled atmosphere (Vacuum))
In the case of oil transformers, tank filling represents a critical phase of production. In fact, the filling oil may contain a water component due to its exposure to atmospheric humidity. Since the presence of water in the insulation oil can negatively affect both the performance of the transformer and its life duration, the most frequently used solution is represented by an initial treatment of the oil (degassing) followed by filling in a controlled atmosphere (vacuum) inside an autoclave.
For customers who intend to use a single device for both the drying and filling phases, Idrocalor produces heated negative autoclaves. A heat exchanger powered by diathermic oil is positioned inside the autoclave. The process is divided into two phases, the first represented by the drying phase (in air at ambient pressure) and the second by the filling which occurs in vacuum. During the second phase, heat is supplied only by radiation.
Ovens and autoclaves are dimensioned according to the components to be treated, the space constraints given by the production infrastructure, the expected production volume and the process to be implemented and, furthermore, they are supplied with customized solutions for loading and unloading the products, from trolleys designed to host small electric motors to motorized trolleys for the treatment of large motors and transformers.
Optimization of production process phases have led some of our customers to consider a system composed by an oven and an autoclave in order to perform the drying phases inside the oven and the filling ones in the autoclave.
