Vulcanization and cable coating
Idrocalor has developed, in collaboration with its customers, systems for the vulcanization of rubber profiles and high temperature systems for the coating of special silicone or PTFE cables.
As regards the vulcanization of rubber profiles, the production process requires dedicated plants that allow to:
- treat the profile continuously
- create the optimal conditions for the vulcanization heat treatment

wash the profile and separate it from the treatment residuals
The thermal conditions necessary for the vulcanization process can be recreated through different methods including:
- electric heating and forced ventilation (hot air vulcanization)
- heated solution of water and salts in which to immerse the profile to be vulcanized (salts bath)

Heating through infrared (IR) lamps.
There are various needs, for example, for the coating of special cables. In this case it is necessary that the heat treatment is done at higher temperatures (up to 500 °C) and always continuously.
Regarding these needs, Idrocalor has created forced ventilation ovens specifically designed for the purpose.
